So it really is GREAT news!

I often sit and think about you guys and my charmed Slimming World career thus far. Can it really be that such joy, wonder and excitement has come my way as a result of being 'fat'?! After all, if I had never weighed xxx stones and been so dismally unhappy, I would never have joined my first group back in 1992 and I would never have the remarkable job that I do today :-)

Funny how things work out eh?

All these years on (as a result of my utter despair back then) I have met and enjoyed the company of so many tremendous people week in, week out. Your faith in me has kept me driven all these years and I have continued to strive to be the best I can for you wonderful guys.

So thirteen years ago, SW HQ start a new awards system: to honour and recognise excellence within the company. Little old me is nominated for 'special achiever' and wins!!! (who me??!!)

Following on from the success of the awards, SW decide to make annual awards a more permanent feature with regularly contested categories - one of which being 'Group of the Year'

St Neots gets nominated.

For the next ten years in a row, St Neots gets nominated and wins the title outright in 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2009.

Nominated out of 3,600 groups? That takes something quite special eh? YES! It takes a group of very special people: On a Tuesday evening in St Neots, there’s this very special group of people who get together. They listen to each other, compliment each other, support each other, congratulate each other and go out of their way to help, support, solve their problems and share their successes. They laugh and cry together, they applaud every success – they understand each other and they loose weight. It’s not a new fad either, this has been happening for 17 years! Sounds like a different world? Well this is Slimming World! Slimming World St Neots and our fabulous group has just received it's 12th consecutive group of the year nomination!!!!

WOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!

You are warm, funny, smart, brave, scared, passionate, moody, committed, helpful, loud, joyful, tearful and overall quite a bit smaller! You are an exhilarating concoction who make my night every Tuesday. Your blind passion and trust, your never ending hope and conviction to get to target no matter what make you all an honour to know. You remind me of why I do what I do and how very lucky I am.....how very lucky I was.......to have needed Slimming World in the first place.

Funny how things work out eh?

With all my hear I hope you are having the most amazing week. Be bold, be the change and remember than even when you no longer love yourself, we will simply adore you!!

Gushing? me? Bloody right!!

Inspired to go for goals!

There's no doubt that all this sunshine has got the buzzing with summer excitement and raring to go!!!

So, it's time to renew your commitment, set some goals, assess what it is we REALLY want. I was watching Eddie Izzard last night running his 43 marathons in 51 days, my goodness, was I inspired!!! Anyone watching that will not have failed to perceive that his success was in no small way down to his incredible mental attitude and personal determination. Goals were set and he refused to be beaten. What a man!! The power of a positive mental attitude is nothing short of witchcraft and thus the run that had nearly killed me last Monday morning, I ran this morning like a gazelle. I felt incredible, I felt amazing, I felt positive, I felt SO ALIVE!!!!

So guys, we talked last week about setting our own personal goals, our FOR AND AGAINST list for losing weight and getting fit. Have you done yours yet - do you actually know what it is you are seeking to achieve yet? Some personal, time crucial goals might just help. Where will you be this time next month / next year? And what is it you stand to gain for putting the hard work in? Worth thinking about eh? And definitely worth doing something about it :-)

We are week 3 of our BEAT IT campaign and there is still so much to look forward to. Everyone deserves to feel happy and healthy - and that includes you. It's a new week and today could be the first day of the rest of your life...your happy, healthy life. BE THE CHANGE!!!!

Have you got 22 minutes to spare? Then watch this.

So I mentioned in group about the Jamie Oliver prizewinning speech that Caroline had sent to me - I admit it is not all easy listening but goodness me! It's food for thought. The stats about obesity speak for themselves, we are so lucky that we are already trailbalzing and living the change. Click the link below to watch.

This summer I will be shouting passionately for England 'my team' in the world cup. My passion for good eating and healthy living is for life - not just for summer - stick with me!

Worth thinking about!

So here's the thing..I was telling you about the 90/10 theory last night in group and how it can relate to reactions and decisions that we make concerning our eating habits. Could really be a light bulb moment Lightbulb Idea for many of you so do read on.....I found it awesome and can feel myself assessing my reaction in stressful situations. Suck it and see :-)

You can view it here http://www.slideshare.net/fforfaisal/90-10-principle-presentation

or just read on here, it'll take 5 mins - invest in yourself eh? :-)

The 90/10 Principle
Author : Stephen Covey ( Management Guru)

Have you read this before? Discover the 90/10 Principle. It will change your life
(at least the way you react to situations). What is this principle?

10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react. What does this mean?

We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic. We have no control over this 10%. The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%.

How? By your reaction. You cannot control a red light., but you can control your reaction. Don't let people fool you; YOU can control how you react.

Let's use an example. You are eating breakfast with your family. Your
daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You have no control over what just what happened. What happens when the next will be determined by how you react. You curse. You harshly scold your daughter for
knocking the cup over.

She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your spouse and criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish breakfast and get ready for school. She misses the bus. Your spouse must leave
immediately for work.

You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late, you drive 40 miles an hour in a 30 mph speed limit. After a 15-minute delay and
throwing $60 traffic fine away, you arrive at school. Your daughter runs into the building without saying goodbye. After arriving at the office 20 minutes late, you find you forgot your briefcase. Your day has started terrible. As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse. You look forward to coming home, When you arrive home, you find small wedge in your relationship with your
spouse and daughter.

Why? Because of how you reacted in the morning. Why did you have a bad day?

A) Did the coffee cause it?
B) Did your daughter cause it?
C) Did the policeman cause it?
D) Did you cause it?

The answer is " D".

You had no control over what happened with the coffee. How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day. Here is what could have and should have happened.

Coffee splashes over you. Your daughter is about to cry. You gently say, "It's ok honey, you just need, to be more careful next time". Grabbing a towel you rush
upstairs. After grabbing a new shirt and your briefcase, you come back down in time to look through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns and waves. You arrive 5 minutes early and cheerfully greet the staff. Your boss comments on how good the day you are having.

Notice the difference? Two different scenarios. Both started the same. Both
ended different.

Why? Because of how you REACTED. You really do not have any control over 10% of what happens. The other 90% was determined by your reaction.

Here are some ways to apply the 90/10 principle. If someone says something negative about you, don't be a sponge. Let the attack roll off like water on glass. You don't have to let the negative comment affect you! React properly and it will not ruin your day. A wrong reaction could result in losing a friend, being fired, getting stressed out etc.

How do you react if someone cuts you off in traffic? Do you lose your temper? Pound on the steering wheel? A friend of mine had the steering wheel fall off)
Do you curse? Does your blood pressure skyrocket? Do you try and bump them? WHO CARES if you arrive ten seconds later at work? Why let the cars ruin your drive? Remember the 90/10 principle, and do not worry about it.

You are told you lost your job. Why lose sleep and get irritated? It will work out. Use your worrying energy and time into finding another job. The plane is late; it is going to mangle your schedule for the day. Why take out your frustration on the flight attendant? She has no control over what is going on. Use your time to study, get to know the other passenger. Why get stressed out? It will just make things worse. Now you know the 90-10 principle. Apply it and you will be amazed at the results. You will lose nothing if you try it.

The 90-10 principle is incredible. Very few know and apply this principle.

The result? Millions of people are suffering from undeserved stress, trials, problems and heartache. We all must understand and apply the 90/10 principle.

It CAN change your life!!!

Kisses
